Vibration Transmission across Seismically Damaged Beam-to-Column Junctions of Reinforced Concrete Using Statistical Energy Analysis

چکیده

To detect human survivors trapped in buildings after earthquakes by using structure-borne sound it is necessary to have knowledge of vibration transmission collapsed and fragmented reinforced-concrete buildings. In this paper, statistical energy analysis (SEA) considered for modelling seismically damaged, reinforced concrete, beam-to-column junctions where the connection between beam column made only via steel reinforcement. An ensemble 30 randomly damaged was generated a Monte Carlo simulation with FEM. Experimental SEA (ESEA) then two or three subsystems determine coupling loss factors (CLFs) either bending modes combination all mode types. It shown that dominate dynamic response uncertainty predicting CLFs FEM ESEA sufficiently low should be feasible estimate even when exact angle unknown. addition, use rather than junction significantly decreases number negative ESEA. initial results paper presented at 50th International Congress Exposition on Noise Control Engineering.

Tapered Polymer Fiber Sensors for Reinforced Concrete Beam Vibration Detection

In this study, tapered polymer fiber sensors (TPFSs) have been employed to detect the vibration of a reinforced concrete beam (RC beam). The sensing principle was based on transmission modes theory. The natural frequency of an RC beam was theoretically analyzed. Experiments were carried out with sensors mounted on the surface or embedded in the RC beam. Vibration detection results agreed well w...

Modeling of a reinforced concrete beam subjected to impact vibration using ABAQUS

A 3D finite element (FE) analysis technique using ABAQUS is chosen to explore the dynamic behavior of a beam under impact load. A beam, for which the impact dynamic test was conducted by Kishi (2004), is selected to develop a solid element FE model. FE analyses were performed implementing ABAQUS Explicit (2004) programming tool to predict the dynamic responses under the pressure amplitude intro...

Nonlinear Earthquake Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Frames with Fiber and Bernoulli-Euler Beam-Column Element

A beam-column element based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory is researched for nonlinear dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) structural element. Stiffness matrix of this element is obtained by using rigidity method. A solution technique that included nonlinear dynamic substructure procedure is developed for dynamic analyses of RC frames. A predicted-corrected form of the Bossak-α met...

Finite element analysis of a rigid beam to column connection reinforced with channels

Abstract: This research work presents a new rigid connection constructed with channels. In order to assess its hysteresis behavior, three specimens with different cover plates and six specimens with different panel zone thickness have been considered. The energy absorbed by the connection and the behavior of the panel zone were studied during cyclic loading and compared with those of connectio...
